With this I was able to explain the role of the two gay characters in ‘A Chorus Line.’ Greg was open about his sexual preference and eve told a peculiar story about how he found out he was gay, while Paul dealt with his lifestyle secretly and in fear. Paul represented the many homosexuals who were afraid to come out and show the people in society who thy truly were. In addition, race was very important. On the slide next to Richie Walters picture is his quote ‘I’m Black.’ To the audience that may have seemed overt and awkward for him to say. However, that statement was a declaration that he was black and that he deserved to be in the same castings and shows that anyone else did.
